Farah Khan & A.R. Rahman Come Out In Support Of Aamir Khan – Agree On The Intolerance Debate!

1 Ever since Aamir Khan spoke about how he felt regarding the growing intolerance in India, he has been recieving lots of flak from the public, politicians and Bollywood celebrities. However, there are also some people who stand by him and agree with his views, few of them being Jackie Shroff, Farah Khan and A.R. Rahman.

Farah Khan said,

I just want to say that there is no ‘intolerance’ but when somebody has a point of view everybody jumps on him and attacks him. That is the very definition of ‘intolerance.’ So, it’s ironic that we say ‘how can you say we are intolerant’.

Rahman said,

Any type of revolt should be classical. It is becoming very poetic rather than people people hitting each other. We should set an example because we come from the land of Mahatma Gandhi. We have shown the world how revolution can be done without violence. I have gone through something similar some time ago. And at that time, I had also mentioned that nothing should be violent. We are ultra-civilised people. It is a chaotic protest. We should show the world that we are one of the most civilised cultures.

While everyone has a point of view here, what do you guys have to say?

Stop Everything, Jackie Shroff Has The Best Reaction To Aamir Khan’s ‘Intolerance’ Comments

Of course you know about the whole Aamir Khanintolerance‘ fiasco that happened a few days ago. The actor made a few statements, bits of which the media began reporting and of course, social media exploded. There are groups divided into supporting the man or dissing him, but all in all, there’s one actor who has the best reaction to this issue. It’s the king of many hearts, Jackie Shroff and here’s what he has to say.

“I feel one should be able to express bindaas.”

Always knew he’s special.

Oh No! There’s A New Twist To The Karisma Kapoor & Sunjay Kapur’s Divorce Saga

Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur are apparently unable to find common ground in their petition for divorce by mutual consent. The two are reportedly fighting over the terms of a trust being set up for their kids Samaira and Kiaan Raj Kapoor. Sunjay doesn’t want to hand over all the control of the said trust to Karisma, due to which Karisma is not letting Sunjay meet their kids. Karisma’s lawyer alleges that Sunjay is not complying with the terms set for the mutual consent needed to get the divorce and apart from the trust, Sunjay refuses to give Karisma the flat in Mumbai as well. On the other hand, Sunjay’s lawyer has said that Karisma and both the children are well looked after financially by Sunjay. Till the time Karisma and Sunjay don’t agree on these important points, a divorce by mutual consent seems to be extremely difficult.

Kareena Kapoor Khan Also Has Something To Say About “Intolerance” In India

I don’t really need to remind you of what happened when Aamir Khan chose to share his views about intolerance on a public platform. Kareena Kapoor Khan was also asked about her thoughts on the intolerance issue recently and this is how she chose to respond.

She said,

“We should learn to address the issue (of intolerance) rather than getting it upon ourselves. Intolerance is not a personal issue, it is the issue of an entire nation.”

Well said!

Tamasha review: Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone are back with Imtiaz Ali’s most complex story

Tamasha review: Despite its flaws, this is Imtiaz Ali’s most complex story, teeming with ideas, and gives us Ranbir Kapoor back again, along with the lovely Deepika Padukone.

Just short of an hour into the film, I was up to there with ‘Tamasha’. All we’d got till then was scene after pretty scene in Corsica – picturesque bistros, colourful locals in fancy dress, leafy green countryside, sparkling blue waters, and two of the most interesting actors in Bollywood desperately acting out their parts : over-emphasising their meet-cute, making eyes and coming hither. To absolutely no effect. No impact. Zero. Nada.

Can you imagine getting Ranbir and Deepika and not letting them fall into a real, true, passionate twosome, because the writing in this initial part of the film forces them into an annoyingly artificial construct : we know we are combustible, but we won’t, because you know, we are in this make-believe la-la land where we won’t reveal our real selves?

Got it? No? Good, because I didn’t either.

Ved ( Ranbir) and Tara ( Deepika) swan around cluelessly and uselessly in the first hour of the film, and you wonder just how much more of waste it can get . And then, surprise, it gets better, and so do they. And ‘Tamasha’ becomes, somewhat, the film you presume Ali and his actors had set out to make.

Turns out that the obedient, well-behaved boy that Ved used to be has grown into the obedient, well-behaved young adult, but not in any way that does him any good. A demanding father sets Ved upon a path not of his own choosing, and the break-through comes when he meets the girl : the cocoon shatters, and the real Ved emerges, putting his yes-sir, no-sir, three-bags-full-sir robotic existence behind him, coming out into a world of light and imagination and magic.

Ved loves being told stories. He discovers he loves telling stories as much. When the director delves deep into this groove, he mines something solid and yes, I will use that word again, real. Those are the moments that make this film shine, and leave you smiling. It’s interesting how accepting that make-believe can set you free sets both the director and the actor free : there are flashes here of the terrific actor that Ranbir can be, and that’s a relief both for the performer as well as the audience.

Deepika is luminous, and she is much more sure-footed in her part. Even though Ranbir gets more space, Tara is drawn with welcome depth : it is usually a leading man’s prerogative to sulk and stomp. Did she fall in love with her idea of love, and can she sustain it with the passage of time? Ali puts forth a fairly radical idea as well : can the love that you feel when you are out of time, in exotic locales, survive a storm of ordinariness? Of ‘aam-aadminess’?

We do get the answers, and they do leave us feeling warm and fuzzy, but it’s not enough. That wasted, stretched introduction is a problem. So is the director’s penchant of using music to underline the sentiments : why not more confidence in just letting the moment, and the actor, speak for itself? Why the clunkiness?

I really liked a lot of the second half. There’s so much good stuff going on, including the pair which strays, and then journeys towards each other. Despite its flaws, this is Ali’s most complex story, teeming with ideas, and gives us Ranbir back again, along with the lovely Deepika, even if the plot keeps losing sight of her : there are tracts when she goes missing.

Deepika Padukone-Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Tamasha’ hits screens today

After a long wait and much talk, Imtiaz Ali’s romantic drama, ‘Tamasha’ starring Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor releases today.

After a long wait and much talk, Imtiaz Ali’s romantic drama, ‘Tamasha’ releases today. Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, there has been much hype surrounding its release, ever since the film was first announced.

Set in Corsica, France, ‘Tamasha’ is a tale about Ved (Ranbir Kapoor) and Tara (Deepika Padukone) who cross paths on a holiday. Having the time of their lives, the duo explore the world without divulging any real details about themselves. But what happens when they return from their trip, only to get back to reality?

Audiences are eagerly waiting to see the former real-life couple, Ranbir Kapoor – Deepika Padukone reunite onscreen, especially after their big commercial success with ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’. Not only do they share an electrifying chemistry, but from their body language and their easy-going camaraderie with each other, it’s plain that both Ranbir and Deepika have not only grown as actors but as individuals who have come a long way in their professional and personal lives.

They bring that friendship onscreen, creating absolute magic and the very fact that Imtiaz has directed the two Bollywood talents, expectations are nothing short of brilliant.

“Chemistry is not something that me or Deepika bring to the table when you sign us on. It is also the kind of parts that we like individually as actors like in ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ we liked each other’s characters. Then we can bring our best to the table and the character and dynamics between us makes the chemistry,” said Ranbir during promotions of ‘Tamasha’.

Director Imtiaz Ali who has worked with Deepika in ‘Love Aaj Kal’ had only praise for the actress, “I think she has grown as a person. She has shed her very inherent shyness while acting. She has been able to overcome that. That is why she looks more confident, she has always been good, but she looks more confident because she has been able to deal with the shyness.”

Imtiaz also explained the title of his directorial, saying, “Tamasha’ has that kind of love which makes a normal person extraordinary, which makes a commoner an artist. This is the kind of love through which you understand why you need a woman in life and how it takes you on a journey through which we identify ourselves.”

While all seems promising, whether ‘Tamasha’ will be able to take on Salman Khan’s blockbuster, ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ at the box office, remains to be seen.

Fukrey actor Pulkit Samrat has separated from his wife Shweta Rohira after one year of being together. In an exclusive interaction with The Indian Express.com, Shweta Rohira said how her family, rakhi brother Salman Khan have been her support system.

“My family has been extremely supportive of me in whatever I have done till now. Today as well it is my family who has been supporting me and that includes Salman bhai as well. Just because he is a superstar doesn’t mean he will not support. He is family to me,” said Shweta.

Shweta, who puts up a brave smiling face, says she sees the brighter side of life. ” Life goes on. It is not as if like due to the separation, the world has come to an end.”

Commenting on her separation, Shweta said, “Pulkit one day came and said that he is separating from me because of his family. I have always believed that families are very important and one shouldn’t do anything to hurt each other’s families.”

Pulkit and Shweta were childhood friends. They ringed in their first anniversary recently on November 3.

Pulkit’s separation has also brought into limelight his alleged closeness with actress Yami Gautam. When we asked Shweta if Yami was the reason behind the separation, she said, “Mr. Pulkit Samrat has said his family is the reason behind him seperating from me and I would like to believe that.”

When we prodded further on the Yami angle and if she thought there was any truth to the affair talks, Shweta said, “Between then (November 2014 when they got married) and now, she (Yami) is not the reason. I don’t know about the future.”

Is a reconciliation possible with Pulkit, she said: “That’s a hypothetical question I have and will always live in the ‘now’ which is the present. What will happen in future is not something I can say.”

Shweta also clarified that divorce has not yet happened as separation is what Pulkit told he wanted for the moment. However, Shweta also asserted that love is still alive for Pulkit in her heart.

Amitabh Bachchan Just Revealed That He Is Surviving On 25% Of His Liver Now

While Amitabh Bachchan is one of the fittest actors in Bollywood, very few people know that 73-year-old superstar has Hepatitis B which he contracted through blood transfusion. He opened up during an event saying,

“Hepatitis B came to me accidentally. After my accident on the sets of Coolie, I was infused with the blood of about 200 donors and 60 bottles of blood were injected into my system. The Australian antigen Hepatitis B had only been detected three months ago and it was very new for being detected also among various tests needed to be carried out before giving blood to another patient. One of my blood donors was carrying Hepatitis B virus which went into my system. I continued to function normally till the year 2000 and almost 18 years after the accident, during a very normal medical checkup, I was told that my liver was infected, and I had lost 75 percent of my liver. So, if I am standing here today, you are looking at a person who is surviving with 25 percent of his liver. That is the bad part. The good part is you can survive even with 12 percent. But no one wants to get to that stage.”

This is kind of shocking to us considering how healthy he looks at his age. Kudos to him!
