Shweta Bachchan Nanda Reveals Why She “Chickened Out” & Never Became An Actress

It is known fact in Bollywood that most star kids in the industry dream of pursuing careers in Bollywood. While only a few succeed, there are many who try their luck. Amitabh Bachchan andJaya Bachchan are huge stars and well renowned actors of our industry. So, when they had kids, many believed that their kids would become actors too.

Abhishek Bachchan went on to join the industry, but his sister Shweta Bachchan Nandadecided to stay away. In her recent column for DNA, Shweta shared why she decided to choose a different life than her family. According to her, firstly, she never had an aptitude for it and it was not something she could handle. She thinks that “it takes a lot of talent and tenacity to be an actor. Even more so, if you come from a line of actors. It is supposed to be in your blood apparently. How, no one has ever taken the pains to explain!”

Being an actor is not easy, and many don’t see it. She saw it when her parents had to make decisions and sacrifices that normal people don’t see – “it is a tough world and most people do not realise the personal sacrifices made to get to these lofty positions.”

She ends with saying, one could say that she “chickened out” but she’d rather buy popcorn and watch a movie than be a part of the movie herself.
