Despite Tubelight being panned by critics, Salman seems unperturbed. In an interview to IANS, he said, “The critics were really good. I was expecting minus 3 and minus 4 but they gave 1, 1.5 apparently, so I am very pleased.”

Tubelight, directed by Kabir Khan, is an official remake of the 2015 American war drama Little Boy. Salman plays the simpleton Laxman, whose only goal is to bring his brother, Bharat (Sohail Khan), back home. Bharat was selected in the Indian Army and set to the border to fight against the Chinese forces in the 1962 Sino-Indian War.

The film also features Zhu Zhu, Matin Rey Tangu and late actor Om Puri in pivotal roles.

Is Salman Khan taking a huge health risk for Sultan?

The Bajrangi Bhaijaan hero’s perfectionist ways have become a huge concern for his family…

Salman Khan is ready to get into the skin of his character of a Haryanvi wrestler in Yash Raj Film’s next Sultan directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The actor who s well known for taking his shirt off to flaunt his chiselled body is trying an all new approach for his ambitious project. Considering that his good friend Aamir Khan to is ready to play the real life wrestler Mahavir Phogat in Nitish Kumar’s biopic titled Dangal, looks like Salman wants to leave no stone unturned to make a mark in this new avatar. No wonder comparisons have already begun between the two friends and if buzz is to be believed then their friendship is soured too. However, like Aamir is Salman also risking his health for this ambitious project?

After spotting the actor at the Prem Ratan Dhan Payo promotions and during his Bigg Boss 9 outings everybody has noticed an obvious change in Salman. The actor was perspiring immensely and at one point was even seen taking his co-star Sonam Kapoor’s designer dupatta to wipe off the beads of sweat on his face. We hear that Salman’s family is really worried about his new ways and regime, which is not really surprising specially when you take into account his health concerns.

Not so long ago during Ek Tha Tiger, Salman was diagnosed with a neurological condition that became a huge concern. The actor was treated for trigeminal neuralgia and aneurysm in the US. In fact, we hear that he was asked to stay away from heavy duty stunts and action sequences, which is why we saw several of his body doubles during the shoot of Kick. But it seems like Salman is thrilled about Sultan and wants to give it his best. However, BollywoodLife had spoken to health expert Arnav Sarkar, Owner, Sarkar Training sometime back on B-town stars sudden physical change. And here’s what he had to say…

#Sudden weight gain – safe or not?: The body needs time to adjust to any weight gain or loss, and hastening this can lead to health problems. It would depend on the current build of the individual. A tall guy is likely to gain more weight than a shorter guy. If a person is starting training and eating right for the very first time, then maybe up to 3-4 kilos would be possible in a safe manner without putting on too much of body fat. This much can be expected without steroids, but massive gains like 10 kilos or more would indicate the use of steroids.

#Health risks: Starting from less dangerous problems like skin problems, it can also cause more severe ones like high blood pressure, impotence, heart attacks, and even death. Steroids are simply not to be played around with. Drastic weight gain is often associated with increased body fat levels and might also make one feel lethargic carrying the rapidly gained weight.

The expert had also commented on Aamir’s situation and revealed how for a professional actor “drastic weight gain and loss is somewhat justified considering the amount of money at stake.” He also added, “it could be different and done in a safer manner, but realistically its just too much money to not take a chance for”.

Well, looks like Salman‘s near and dear ones concern is very much justified. But we would like to know from the actor’s fans if this huge risk by Salman Khan is really justified? Comments in the box below…

Revealed: Katrina Kaif’s biggest regret about Salman Khan!

Something she ought to have done but she didn’t…

We told you how Katrina Kaif was moved to tears after watching Bajrangi Bhaijaan and texted him to make this known. She apparently even praised his performance but in a recent interview to a daily, she denied sending him any message although she feels she should have!

Katrina told the daily that she didn’t send him any congratulatory message and regrets not doing so. She feels she should have done that after all. Although she said it in jest, we could sense a bit of regret there. She then broke into showering praises on Salman and his performance. She feelsEk Tha Tiger showed Salman in different light while Bajrangi Bhaijaan has Kabir Khan’s sensibilities written all over it. Katrina called Salman’s performance outstanding which reminded her of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.

Well, this is something we completely agree with. Salman definitely displayed a side of him we thought has ceased to exist. Such surprises really make us happy and that includes Katrina as well it seems.

Lawyer Amit Desai: Salman falsely implicated by a tutored witness

A crucial eye-witness produced by the prosecution in the 2002 hit-and-run case involving Salman Khan implicated him falsely with a tutored testimony, the Bollywood actor’s lawyer today argued before the Bombay High Court.

Khan was sentenced to five years in prison by the sessions court in May. He is accused of running over his car on people sleeping outside a shop in suburban Bandra on September 28, 2002, killing one and injuring four.

The actor, on bail, has filed appeal in the High Court.

Khan’s lawyer Amit Desai today said Muslim Shaikh, who was among the injured, told the magistrate in 2006 (during the first trial) that he had not seen anyone getting down from the car after the accident.

But he told the sessions court during the fresh trial in 2014 that he saw Salman Khan getting down, Desai said.

“It appears that with age, memory becomes sharper,” the lawyer quipped.

The case was heard afresh by the sessions court after the charge against Khan was upgraded to culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

Alleging that the witness was tutored by the prosecution, Desai said “why do you need to tutor a witness when there are eyewitnesses who are alive and available and not examined?” referring to the singer Kamaal Khan who was in the car with Khan at the time and was never examined.

“A key question still remains to be answered…who was driving the car,” Desai added.

Justice A R Joshi asked the defence and also prosecutor S S Shinde to prepare a list of witnesses in a tabular form and their respective statements, posting the next hearing to August 25.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan box office collection: Salman Khan starrer inches towards the 500-crore mark worldwide but fails to break PK’s record!

The film’s second week collection are very less likely to come even close to PK’s

To say that Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan has taken the nation and the box office by a storm would be stating the obvious. Kabir Khan’s latest outing has broken several records at the number game and continues its strong run at the box office in its 2nd week too. The film earned Rs 7.10 crore on Wednesday bringing its domestic total to Rs 266.22 crores in 13 days. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures on his Twitter account. “#BajrangiBhaijaan [Wk 2] Fri 12.80 cr, Sat 19.25 cr, Sun 24.05 cr, Mon 9.30 cr, Tue 9.10 cr, Wed 7.10 cr. Total: Rs 266.22 cr. ATBB” he tweeted. The film has also earned Rs 128 crore overseas without accounting for its Wednesday collection. This brings the worldwide total collection to Rs 496 crores. However, Salman fails to break Aamir’s record this time around.

Aamir’s PK and Dhoom 3, both had earned Rs 735 crore and 536 crore respectively in two weeks. After excluding PK and Dhoom 3′s collections from China and Japan, where Bajrangi Bhaijaan did not release, the worldwide total of these two films stands at Rs 613 crores and Rs 514 crores. Though, the Kabir Khan directorial is expected to leave Dhoom 3 behind with its second week collection, catching up with PK’s worldwide total seems like a very slim possibility.
